The SpectroShade Micro's patented software and analysis capability allow the user access to the most detailed shade analysis available today. Once an image is acquired and transferred to a computer running the SpectroShade software, the analysis can begin.
Basic Shade Analysis
Side-by-Side Comparison (Tracking Restoration Progress)
Basic Shade Analysis:
You can adjust the shape of the area to analyze as necessary.

Once the desired shape is completed, the user can now analyze the image against a library of shade standards, starting with an overall shade.

The analysis can be broken down into further detail with a three parts analysis.

And even further into a Fine Shade Map.
Finally, the user can analyze the tooth's translucency with the Translucency Map

Once the analysis is completed, the user can view the Delta-E and value, chroma, and hue information, comparing the actual tooth to the selected shade standard. The difference in color is represented as the numerical index, Delta-E.

All of this information is available on a single screen format with basic Delta-E information as well.

Side by Side Comparison:
The SpectroShade Micro and software allow the user to compare images of the same tooth, or different teeth, side by side in order to track progress in restorative work and bleaching treatments. The side by side comparison would allow the user to determine the change in shade by comparing a past image to a newer image, or noting the change in shade after a bleaching treatment compared to a loaded shade standard.
Two images of the same tooth, taken at different times, are compared side by side.

The two images are synchronized to ensure that the shade areas that are read are identical in location.

Synchronous and Asynchronous measurement allow the user great flexibility in tracking their restorative work.

These values are written to the image and available for print. The analysis can be saved and referred to later to track progress in treatment, or to compare before/after images.

Alternately, you can click the "Split Vertically" or "Split Horizontally" buttons to split the image into 2 halves, one from the before image, and one from the after image. This gives the patient a visual cue as to how much their teeth have changed after the procedure.
